What have I been doing all day you wonder? Well that's a very good question. First, I had planned on going shopping for some last minute gifts and food. I sat in the kitchen making my list as I watched our oldest make himself eggs and bacon for breakfast. (I had already fed the younger 3.)
He had different additions for the list and I obliged. The other children were all playing quietly in the basement which made me think it would be a great day to run a couple of errands. After I made the list our daughter and I started getting ready for the day. After she had been bathed and hair blown dry I noticed just how close she got to her forehead yesterday when she 'trimmed' her bangs. Oh, very short. It was basically spiked right at her widows peak. I noticed she also trimmed some on each side of her ears as well. I asked her what she thought of it and she admitted she wanted it to be long again.
With her permission I trimmed some more bangs to try to even it out. Then she looked in the mirror and cried. She really didn't want bangs after all she just wanted to "try" cutting her hair. I hugged her and explained that next time she thinks she would like a different hair style that it is very important that she comes to me and lets me know so I can then take her to the beauty shop. She agreed with me that that is just what she will do. She felt better and then we sat at the bar together in the kitchen eating a chocolate. I snapped a quick picture of her and uploaded it to facebook.
Next, I was onto the ottoman. The marker coloring has reappeared. I called crayola. Unfortunately, yellow is the hardest color to come out and they
informed me we may need to work on it for at least a week until it is all out. I worked on cleaning it a little and then left it to dry out. At this point I was ready to go to the store. Our daughter asked that I stay home today. I guess she is missing me. I offered for her to run the errands with me. She still just wanted to have a 'home' day. So, I changed my plans and stayed home. The children got ready to go sledding down our hill in the back yard and continued doing that for awhile while I worked on wrapping presents and folding laundry. I am about 1/2 of the way done with both now. The children have settled inside. Our oldest is currently walking around with a laundry bucket on his head. Because I guess that is what you do when you are 13 and super excited for Christmas to come. "Mommy, aren't you going to go shopping for me??" Yes, sweetie I will. Tomorrow. I think. Our littlest is sad that nobody wants to play Star Wars with him on the Wii. But he quickly moved on. Yes, he is still in his jammies but at one point had on an outfit. He wears his jammies under his sledding gear. It is warmer and more comfortable that way. Our daughter just got herself a
snack of cheez-its and had our oldest turn on Tom and Jerry for her. Our middle one is playing a game of paintball and just finished. I think he will probably play tomorrow as well. He is on a paintball kick right now. I'm going to go back to wrapping more presents. I hope to finish those today.
Dinner: Ham and Beans
When you get home.
Love,
Me
